RS3 Completionist Cape Guide

The
Completionist Cape, one of the most noteworthy objects in all of RS3.
Not only does it have some of the most respectable stats in the game for a cape
slot but it is also incredibly difficult to get your hands on. So the most
important question is it worth the hours and hours of work you would have to
put into obtaining this cape? Short answer, yes. Long answer? Hell yes with a
caveat. We only kind of expect you to take our word for it since we are total
experts and all, so we will explain our reasoning either way. Don’t worry though, if you do not have the
time to invest in this extreme achievement, you can always buy a RS3 account that has already obtained this.
Like we were
saying before, the Completionist Cape is incredibly difficult to obtain. We are
not including the fact that you need to be a member as a requirement because
that isn’t really an accomplishment required to unlock it so much as just being
able to pay for the content. To start us off, though, the Completionist Cap
costs 5 million gold. We are starting with that requirement since it is
probably the easiest thing to do out of all the requirements (or easy by itself
at least).
You can only
unlock the opportunity to buy the cape once you have all your skills at 99,
Dungeoneering, Slayer, Farming, Herblore, Archaeology, and Invention up to 120,
you have unlocked all the music and spells in the game, oh, and you have
completed all the quests and tasks in the game. All that should be enough,
right? No, apparently not. There is also a list of 85 other achievements you
must complete on top of all that. Then, and only then, will you be eligible to
buy the cape. We think it is a bit insulting to make you pay for it at that
point but at least it comes with a cool hood, right?
Oh, and by
the by, if you try to obtain the cape before you have completed the extensive
list of requirements you get cursed. And I don’t mean try to steal, I mean if
try and see if you are worthy of the cape and you aren’t, then the cape zaps
you and turns you into a random animal. It does provide a handy list of your
remaining requirements on top of being turned into a random animal, which is
nice, we guess. You can also view a list of the remaining achievements from the
hero tab or by approaching the throne inside the Max Guild. But hey maybe you
wanted to be an animal for a little while, we aren’t here to judge.
Now, we know
we are being a bit grumpy about having to pay for the cape but it does have
some really cool stats and abilities that really help your character that we
are excited to talk about. Wait a minute, apparently, if you unlock and pay for
the cape and the game updates with new content that you have yet to complete,
then you lose access to the cape until you complete it. You cannot wear a cape
that you paid for already?! I guess you are allowed a one month grace period
whenever the capes requirements update, which is good since the stat buffs
probably really help you get those new achievements, but that still seems
awfully rough all the same. Before I get myself too worked up the developers do
promise that new requirements will only be added if they are fair and not
anything based heavily on luck or a time limit, which is good. They also have
been known to take requirements off the cape from time to time, like the Reaper
Crew achievement so that less combat-focused players still had the opportunity
to obtain this cape.
Okay, let’s
just get to the good stuff already. The cape has even stats with the Max Cape,
the other very difficult to obtain cape in the game, and both those capes are
considered among the very best, if not the very best, capes in the game. Along
with these solid stats the capes, again both the Max Cape and the Completionist
Cape, all come with good passive ability options. Both contain three slots that
can be equipped with any three skillcape perks that you have already obtained,
essentially making The Completionist Cape much better than many of the other capes
you have unlocked and allowing you to mix and match the passive abilities to
better compliment on another.
The cape
also comes with some pretty neat aesthetic perks too. Complete appearance
customization, plus a neat little trail of sparkly light wherever you go. We
like the trail behind the effect, really makes you feel like you earned that
magic, you know? The cape also lets you assume the title of The Completionist,
which is a great way to show off how much time and dedication you have put into RS3. I mean, yeah, you have the cape but who doesn’t love a nice title
to go with their cape?
The cape
does come with an emote which would just be a nice little bonus if it wasn’t
the most absolutely mind-blowingly cool emote in the whole game. Get this, the
emote turns you into a dragon. You get to turn into a dragon, fly up into the
sky, burn the letters RS into the ground beneath you, and then land on them and
turn back. I am ready to take back every bad thing I said about how hard it is
to unlock this cape. That emote makes all the hard work worth it by itself
without all the high stat buffs and other extras.
So, we think
that the benefits definitely outweigh the difficulty of obtaining this cape
(again, you can turn into a dragon). Yeah, that is a lot of achievements and
quests but it’s all fun you were planning on having while playing the game
anyway. It’s actually a lot better to have something to show after you have
literally done almost every other thing there is to do in the game. Now that
you have accrued these hundreds of hours you can move onto the advanced trimmed
version of The Completionist Cape. Good luck!
